Bs08button3_2 Commenting on other people’s blogs is fun. Emailing is good. And Skype chatting is a great, cheap and personal way of bridging the distance between Australia and the rest of the world … but it doesn’t make up for meeting people face to face.

That is why I am so excited about Blogger-Social — April 4-6, 2008 to be held in New York City. Sure there are meet-ups like BlogWorldExpo (which I would have loved to be able to attend), but Blogger-Social is special — it is a purpose-built event and it is social. I am sure there will be plenty of IDEAS hatched and PLANS made … but the purpose of the event is to bring us all together.

  2. What’s blogger social? Just kiddin’, I’ll be there with bells on. Cannot wait for some f2f time and, mainly, just some time away from seminars to get all you bloggin’ beauties together.
    Wonder how many hugs I’ll be giving? Tons. (and that’s just the amount I’ll be giving you).

  3. Here’s the problem, Gavin. You’ll probably need to charge for people to get in line and meet you in person or have a “dance card” thing or something. Else it will be impossible to stop the crowds!

  5. I am really hoping to be able to get to the social as well. It’ll be pretty difficult as a student though and not being in NY.

  7. Dang, I’m flying out for a April 3-5 conference in Boston, (gotta meet Morgan Spurlock & the SuperSize Me crew, it’s a must for our work here at Shaping Youth!)
    Maybe I can make it to NYC for the tailend of the blogger social on the 6th? Anyone lingering around the 6th or 7th before I head back to the S.F. Bay area?
    Would love to meet some of the AOC gang F2F for sure, especially YOU, Gavin…you’ve been so thoughtful and kind on so many levels!
    If you’re indicative of the caliber of our team, then hey, I need serious outreach to get to know the rest of the authors! (I’ve been enjoying the Facebook group/blog feeds from all)

  10. As I am based in the UK cost is a slight issue…I have put on my letter to Santa money for a trip to NY…fingers crossed as there are soooo many people I would love to meet in person
